Scratchpad, inline task editing, and focused work sessions
A new Scratchpad panel lets you capture quick notes and turn them into tasks. The task detail page now supports inline editing for all fields. Focused work sessions have been reworked with quick-pick time chips, a visual fill bar, and per-task swap actions.
Features
- New Scratchpad panel — open it from the sidebar to jot down notes, ideas, or reminders without leaving your current view.
- Scratchpad items support multiple lines — press Shift+Enter to add a new line within an item, Enter to start a new bullet.
- Convert any scratchpad line into a task with one click — choose a project and fill in the task form without losing your note.
Improvements
- Scratchpad panel reloads fresh data each time it opens so you always see the latest.
- Scratchpad has a warmer, more inviting design with a cleaner empty state and clearer calls to action.
- Task title and description can now be edited directly on the detail page — click to edit, blur or ⌘↵ to save.
- Status, type, priority, milestone, due date, and time estimate are all editable inline from the sidebar.
- Task detail page has a new layout with breadcrumb navigation showing project, milestone, and task key.
- Mark as Done button is now prominent in the task header rather than buried in a card.
- Create task form has a cleaner layout with a custom project picker, character counter on the summary field, and ⌘↵ to submit.
- Status, type, and priority dropdowns now show icons alongside labels for faster scanning.
- Quick-select time chips (30m, 1h, 2h, 4h, 6h) for instant session setup — no submit needed.
- Session card shows task count, total planned time, and a visual fill bar so you can see how packed your session is.
- Swap button per task replaces it with the next best alternative that fits; disabled when no alternatives exist.
- Focus timer now shows the first task name so you know exactly where to start.
- Smart empty states explain why no tasks appear and what to do about it.
- Help page updated with a Focused Work Sessions section covering how tasks are picked, swapping, and time estimate format.
Bug fixes
- Scratchpad content now saves immediately when you leave a line or close the panel — no more lost notes.
- Task titles in table views now truncate with an ellipsis instead of overflowing the column.
